Apple will not be able to ship new iPads to consumers in Asia in time for Christmas as the supply crunch hits the US giant ahead of the crucial holiday sales season, Nikkei reported citing delivery timelines.
Customers in the Philippines who order one of the most popular iPad models (Space Grey with 256 GB and WiFi) on Apple’s website on Monday will have to wait until January 14 for delivery, the report said, adding that those in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Thailand and Malaysia who order on Monday would also receive the devices after Christmas.
Delivery timelines for the iPhone are shorter than for iPads but still longer than in a typical year, Nikkei said.
