EV brand Zeekr announces $750 million funding round from investors including Mobileye founder

Zeekr, a premium electric vehicle brand launched by Chinese automaker Geely, said on Monday it has raised $750 million in a Series A from investors including Amnon Shashua, founder and chief executive of Intel’s self-driving tech unit Mobileye. The funding, which upped the company’s valuation to $13 billion, marks a rare collaboration between Intel’s driver-assistance subsidiary and a Chinese carmaker, according to an industry observer. Other investors include battery maker CATL and Yuexiu Industrial Fund, an investment firm backed by the Guangzhou city government. Zeekr has reportedly filed for a public listing in the US and is aiming to enter the European market later this year. [TechNode reporting, Zeekr statement]
