Alipay, the payment app owned by Ant Group, has added a feature to its Chinese homepage that takes users directly to its lifestyle channel when they click on a prominent “take a look” button. Prior to this adjustment, the lifestyle channel, where merchants and influencers share short videos, lifestyle posts, and livestream links, was a tab at the bottom of the app’s homepage. Users of the channel have increased 10-fold in the past six months and the average daily upload volume has increased by more than 300%, according to the head of Alipay’s lifestyle channel, as cited by Global Times.
