On Thursday, Huawei launched its new nova 11 series of phones in China, including the nova 11, nova 11 Pro, and nova 11 Ultra, priced between RMB 2,499 and RMB 4,499 ($364 to $655). The premium model, the nova 11 Ultra, supports two-way BeiDou satellite communication, allowing users to send and receive messages without relying on traditional phone signals. This follows the launch of Huawei’s flagship P60 smartphone range last month, which also features satellite messaging capabilities. All three of the nova models are equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chipset but are limited to 4G LTE connectivity. The Ultra features a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a 60MP super-wide-angle lens, a 4,500mAh battery, and 100W fast charging, along with 512GB of permanent storage. The phone also uses Kunlun glass, which enhances its durability. [IThome, in Chinese]
