Tesla is planning to introduce at least two redesigned Model Y sports utility vehicles in China next year, including a seven-seater, in what is set to be a significant revamp of its hugely popular crossover especially for the Chinese market, LatePost reported on Thursday. The locally-made seven-seater could feature an extended wheelbase for the first time so as to offer more legroom and add comfort for those behind the front seats, although sources said such details have not been established yet, without revealing further specifics. The seven-seater option of the Model Y is set to go on sale in the fourth quarter of 2025, and the US automaker aims to launch another facelift of the midsize two-row SUV early next year, featuring an updated autonomous driving stack and battery packs. Tesla China has denied rumors that it is producing the seven-seater Model Y at its Shanghai Gigafactory. [LatePost, in Chinese]
