NVIDIA’s special edition RTX 5090 DD for China to launch in August with up to 30% performance cut

NVIDIA is expected to launch its new flagship graphics card for the Chinese market, the GeForce RTX 5090 DD, this August

NVIDIA is expected to launch its new flagship graphics card for the Chinese market, the GeForce RTX 5090 DD, this August, according to Canadian media outlet Wccftech. The model is a special edition designed to replace the previously banned RTX 5090 D due to new US export restrictions. The final version of the RTX 5090 DD may see a further reduction in CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) cores to 14,080, a cut of up to 35%. Combined with reduced memory capacity, overall gaming performance could decline by around 20% to 30%. Meanwhile, NVIDIA’s rival AMD is also said to be preparing special-edition graphics cards with downgraded performance specifically for the Chinese market. [Icsmart, in Chinese]
