Today, the Appliance & Electronics World Expo (AWE) 2026 opened in Shanghai. Tesla showcased the Tesla Cybertruck and a humanoid robot, with its upcoming third-generation humanoid model drawing particular attention. The robot is Tesla’s first version designed for large-scale mass production, with production planned to begin by the end of 2026 and a long-term capacity target of up to one million units. The company expects the cost per unit to be kept below $20,000.
The robot leverages Tesla’s vision-based neural network technology developed for autonomous driving, enabling it to perform complex tasks and learn new skills by observing human behavior. In the future, it could help free humans from dangerous, repetitive, and tedious work. [TechNode Reporting]
