On September 8, 2026, TechNode Group signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on media, innovation and cross-border technology cooperation with Central Asian technology and venture capital media outlet The Tech and cross-border innovation platform Khan Tengri Innovation Hub (KTIH) in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. The signing took place during Astana Finance Days and the “China–Central Asia 2026” conference.
The signing brought together Dr. Gang Lu, Founder and CEO of TechNode Group and Co-founder of BEYOND Expo; Laura Zhunussova, Founder and CEO of WE Media Group and Publisher of The Tech; and Maral Shashkenova, Founding Partner and CFO of KTIH.
The partnership aims to expand TechNode’s technology and innovation network in Central Asia and advance cross-border technology cooperation between Central Asia, China and Southeast Asia.
The three organizations will combine their media capabilities, regional industry networks and cross-border innovation resources. Through content partnerships, market promotion, industry events and connections between companies and investors, they will help Chinese technology companies explore regional markets while creating opportunities for local entrepreneurs and innovative ventures to connect with China and other Asian markets.
The Tech focuses on the technology and venture capital markets of Central Asia and the Caucasus, covering venture investment, startups and technology entrepreneurship. Serving technology founders, investors and business decision-makers across the region, it provides insights into startup developments, investment trends and innovation opportunities. Its regional media network will contribute local market intelligence and communications support to the partnership.
Khan Tengri Innovation Hub (KTIH) is a Shanghai-based cross-border innovation hub connecting China and Central Eurasia. Its network spans seven countries, including Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Georgia. Bringing together companies, investment institutions, public institutions and innovation partners, the hub connects regional innovation resources with China’s technology industry through market entry support, technology transfer, joint research and development, and business incubation.
