Self-driving sensor startup Robosense raises undisclosed amount of strategic funds

Chinese self-driving sensor maker Roboense on Tuesday announced that it has raised an undisclosed amount of strategic fund jointly led by investment bank China Renaissance, Xiaomi-backed investment fund Hubei Xiaomi Changjiang Industrial Investment Fund, and Chinese bus manufacturer Yutong. Other investors include YF Capital, a private equity firm run by Alibaba co-founder Jack Ma, BYD, and Nvidia’s Chinese partner Desay. The company has reached partnerships with multiple automakers such as BYD and GAC, with plans to mass producing lidar sensors for consumer cars starting the third quarter of 2022, president Mark Qiu told China’s state broadcaster CCTV on April 15.
