Three Chinese autonomous driving companies started collectively testing 10 robocars on Thursday at the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Henqin, an island adjacent to Macao in Zhuhai city in the southern province of Guangdong. Among the companies to receive testing approval are Luobo Transport (Beijing) Technology Co., Ltd, where Shang Guobin, a Baidu vice president, is the legal representative of the firm, as well as Qcraft, backed by Chinese tech giants Meituan and Bytedance, and Cowarobot, backed by Softbank. Local residents and tourists will be able to take their first ride in one of the vehicles as early as October, according to the report. [Securities Times, in Chinese]
