Chinese automaker BYD said on Wednesday it has opened a new showroom in Brasilia, Brazil in partnership with Saga, one of the biggest dealership groups in Latin America, with plans to operate at least 100 stores in the country by 2023. The Chinese EV and battery giant began operating a $2.7 million manufacturing facility with a capacity of 18,000 battery modules annually in the Brazilian city of Manaus in September 2020 and has been assembling electric buses at its first plant in the country in Campinas since 2015.
