Toyota is planning to reveal adjustments to its electric vehicle plans with major suppliers early next year as the Japanese automaker looks to catch up with rivals Tesla and BYD. The automaker is expected to illustrate plan changes through 2026. Some of the major changes may include delays to some of the EV projects and replacing its current e-TNGA vehicle architecture, built based on a gasoline car platform, with a dedicated EV one, sources told Reuters on Monday. Toyota China began delivering its first mass-produced EV model, the bZ4X crossover, in November and plans to sell its second offering, the bZ3 sedan co-developed with BYD, in January. [Reuters]
