Xiaohongshu targets AI-managed accounts in push to clean up content

Chinese social platform Xiaohongshu said in a statement on Tuesday that it will strictly crack down on AI-managed accounts in order to maintain the authenticity of its community ecosystem. The platform has explicitly banned the use of technical tools to simulate human creators for producing non-authentic content or conducting fake interactions. It will focus on addressing violations such as AI-generated low-quality content at scale, fake product endorsements, account trading, and attempts to bypass platform detection.

For ordinary accounts with occasional violations, the platform will issue warnings or traffic restrictions, while accounts fully operated by AI will be permanently banned. The campaign aims to curb the spread of so-called digital garbage content, protect user rights, and encourage users to participate in reporting suspicious activity. [TechNode Reporting]
