CATL on Tuesday launched Evogo, a fast system for replacing battery packs in electric vehicles (EVs). The battery maker said Evogo enables dead battery packs be removed and replaced with fully charged ones in just one minute. The company claimed that the battery blocks can be used with 80% of all-electric vehicles now on Chinese roads as well as ones coming on the market in the coming three years. The battery giant plans to establish swap stations in 10 Chinese cities but did not disclose a timeline. Nio is currently the biggest player in the swapping segment, operating over 700 stations nationwide as of November. [CATL release]
