Tencent is considering investing several hundred million dollars in Paramount Skydance Corp.’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery, according to people familiar with the matter. The Chinese company would participate as a passive financial investor, the people said.
Tencent had previously been included in Paramount’s December offer with a $1 billion equity commitment, according to a filing at the time, though that arrangement was later withdrawn. Tencent may still decide not to invest, the people said. [Bloomberg]
