Taiwan-based personal computer vendor Asus has unveiled its latest Zenbook S 13 OLED globally, touting it as the world’s thinnest laptop. With a starting price of 7,999 RMB ($1,157), the 1 kg laptop features a 13.3-inch 2.8K resolution OLED panel with 10.9mm thickness, 0.2 ms response time, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, up to 550 nits peak brightness, and Dolby Atmos audio system. At 10.9 millimeters (0.43 inches) thick, its OLED screen is even thinner than Samsung’s Galaxy Book3 Pro ($1,399). The laptop is equipped with a latest 13th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, optimized for gamers. The Zenbook S 13 features a 63 Wh lithium-polymer battery that Asus claims lasts up to 14 hours on a single charge. According to data from market intelligence service IDC, Asus ranked fifth in the world PC market in the first quarter of 2023 with 3.9 million units shipped and a 6.8% market share.
